The 2014 Hindi film Kaanchi: The Unbreakable, directed by Subhash Ghai, features a soundtrack by multiple composers, including Ismail Darbar and Salim–Sulaiman, with Subhash Ghai himself composing one track. The music aims to match the film’s dramatic plot about a woman fighting injustice. The album includes the energetic title track “Kaanchi Re Kaanchi,” sung by Sukhwinder Singh, and the folk-inspired “Adiye Adiye”. However, many critics found the album’s composition dated and lacking, with some tracks being reminiscent of Ghai’s earlier work but failing to capture the same magic. Despite some positive moments, particularly the patriotic rock anthem “Hindustan Kahan Hai,” the overall consensus was that the soundtrack was inconsistent.
