The soundtrack for the 2020 film Coolie No. 1, a reboot of the 1995 classic, is a high-energy “masala” album that balances nostalgia with modern dance-pop sounds. Released under the Zee Music Company label, the music was composed by a multi-composer team including Tanishk Bagchi, Lijo George–DJ Chetas, and Javed–Mohsin, with a background score by Salim–Sulaiman. A major highlight of the album is the recreation of iconic hits like “Husn Hai Suhana” and “Mirchi Lagi Toh,” which retained original vocals from singers like Abhijeet Bhattacharya, Chandana Dixit, Kumar Sanu, and Alka Yagnik to preserve their 90s charm. New tracks such as the infectious “Teri Bhabhi” and the pulsating “Mummy Kassam“—featuring the legendary Udit Narayan—successfully capture the madcap, comedic energy typical of a David Dhawan film.
